Description:

I’ve spent a decade teaching journalism students how to work with information critically and responsibly, whether that’s through digital storytelling, data visualization, or web-based content creation. Rather than treating tools or formats as ends in themselves, my courses are designed around decision-making: how to choose the right structure, platform, and approach for a given audience and goal.

My teaching emphasizes applied learning. Students work through real-world scenarios, practice turning messy information into clear communication, and learn to justify their choices — not just execute them. The goal is to help students leave with transferable skills they can use in professional environments, in addition to a robust portfolio of coursework to share with prospective employers.
